Why monitor groundwater?

• Serves as a basis for policy-making, pollution control, planning for reasonable use and protection of the underground water environment.
• Monitor changes in physical properties, chemical composition, radioactive activity, microbial composition, etc., of groundwater over space and time, under the influence of natural and artificial factors.
• Determine the level of damage and forecast immediate and long-term change trends in the groundwater environment.
