Vietnam Food Joint Stock Company's wastewater discharge violations are not subject to reduced penalties.

According to news from the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ca Mau province, this Department has just issued a document confirming the application for reduction of administrative fines due to violations of discharge of wastewater into the environment without treatment by Vietnam Food Company (headquarters). at Hoa Trung Industrial Park, Hoa Trung hamlet, Luong The Tran commune, Cai Nuoc district), is unfounded.

It also affirms that if the Company encounters difficulties, it can pay the fine multiple times, but not more than 3 times and not more than 6 months from the effective date of the penalty decision.

Previously, the above company was administratively fined by the People's Committee of Ca Mau province for discharging waste into the environment without going through the wastewater treatment system, causing environmental pollution, in the amount of 332 million VND. During the process of extending the renovation of the environmental treatment system (until November 10, 2016), the Provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment requested the Company to collect all wastewater into the water treatment system. waste and adjust production plans accordingly, not to overload the wastewater treatment system, causing environmental pollution.

However, during the inspection last August, wastewater samples from the manhole behind the wastewater treatment system to the receiving source, Luong The Tran canal, determined that the Company had discharged wastewater with a flow rate of 74 - 80m3. /day, of which 8 parameters exceeded the allowable limit (BOD5, COD, TSS, N-total, total oil, animal and vegetable fats, Ammonium and Coliform), notably one parameter exceeded the allowable limit by 860 times. permission.

Previously, citing difficult production conditions, the Company sent an application to the Provincial People's Committee asking for a reduction in penalties for administrative violations.
