Gas Flow Monitor VCEM 5000/5100 is the latest line of gas flow monitoring equipment from CODEL (UK). This device uses two infrared detectors, mounted on a stack or tube (usually 1m apart) in the direction of the gas flow. Thanks to the partitions, the maintenance and cleaning period is maintained (usually 1 year).
Outstanding advantages of gas flow monitor VCEM 5000/5100
- Do not come into direct contact with hot air, dust and aggressive gases
- Direct measurement of high-velocity air flow
- Direct measurement of high-velocity air flow
- Can operate at gas temperatures exceeding 1000 coC

Do not come into direct contact with hot air, dust and aggressive gases Direct measurement of high-velocity air flow No need to move equipment, low maintenance costs and high flexibility Can operate at gas temperatures exceeding 1000oC Fully equipped with the ability to automatically adjust and check the measuring range from low to high The VCEM5100 is a standalone device and can be easily integrated into the SmartCEM emissions monitoring system. It includes a data visualizer for internal data checking. The VCEM5000 is a continuous exhaust gas flow meter specialized for use in SmartCEM CODEL systems, where all measurements and analysis are through a single control station (SCU). This allows data to be exported for the SmartCEM CODEL system to import data, display data in real time and record data for measurements, analysis, and finally preparing reports according to regulations.

Principle of gas flow measurement of gas flow monitor VCEM 5000/5100
The VCEM 5000/5100 uses a similar method of measuring flow using dye or radioactive markers. Velocity is determined by determining the tracer transit time between two measuring points when the distance between those two measuring points is known. Instead of creating marker particles, the device directly uses natural turbulent gas streams to make markers.
Airflow turbulence causes fluctuations in the infrared radiation emitted by the airflow. This process changes continuously and is monitored by two infrared sensors mounted 1m apart in the direction of the air flow. An electronic correlation comparator is used to continuously compare two sensor signals to determine the time delay between the two measurement points, thereby determining the air flow velocity.
